As a young girl in northeastern Oregon, growing up on a working cattle ranch, surrounded by family who valued and loved the Earth, Jennifer roamed 3,000 acres of mountain and open fields. Her curiosity about life's great mysteries as vast as the land itself. This "scrappy little redneck mystic" was, from the beginning, wired differently - fascinated by death and the nature of existence in a way that set her apart.

"For much of my young life I struggled with the sense of something being wrong, not good enough. Self loathing really. Using various methods and beliefs to try and numb, deny or run away from the sense of deep dissatisfaction."

"It's funny because I always used to ask "what the hell is nature?". I had no idea what people were talking about. For me, nature is a synonym for existence. I can't have a connection with something I am. Water isn't connected to wetness. It IS wet. I AM NATURE. People would suggest that nature is the plant world or the landscape. And I definitely have a communion with and deep love of plants and Mother Earth. But I see the same animating principle within human-ness. It's mostly veiled with layers and layers of divisive belief but the essence is natural."

While attending university, she participated in a year long course on the Great Religions of the World. The class was taught by visiting clergy from the various, global faith traditions. It was a formative time, reading sacred writing from around the world and having awake teachers illuminate the essential Truth in its diversity of expression. It permeated her consciousness. And deepened her enduring contemplation into the event we call "death".
While attending university, she participated in a year long course on the Great Religions of the World. The class was taught by visiting clergy from the various, global faith traditions. It was a formative time, reading sacred writing from around the world and having awake teachers illuminate the essential Truth in its diversity of expression. It permeated her consciousness. And deepened her enduring contemplation into the event we call "death".
Driven by that inexplicable and insatiable call to be close to "death", and while pregnant with her daughter and 25 years old, she set out to become a hospice nurse. Over the next 15 years, while also expressing her heart as a mother, Jennifer served as a compassionate guide for those crossing life's final threshold. In the living rooms of souls from all backgrounds, she witnessed the raw beauty of human existence. She saw everything from primal agony to golden light ecstasy as her patients endeavored to let-go of life and loved ones. There were transcendent moments of clarity as she sat with people rising to higher states of consciousness in their final hours. She feels profoundly, humbly honored to have been included in the sacred, transformative journeys of these dear souls .

For years, she existed in a state of divine union, characterized by a totally silent mind. She was unable to name or narrate her experience. The individual who emerged from this alchemical process was fundamentally changed, seeing the world with radically new perception. The world of the “experiencer” no longer existed and became the world of AS IS.
It was in this groundless time of profound grief and heart opening joy, that Grace arose. During a body-mind-centering class taught by Adrienne Tyler, Jen's sister, there was a spontaneous kundalini awakening that shattered her previous way of being and identifying. And it catalyzed a deeper experience of empty compassion, liberated wholeheartedness.

She literally ate "me" alive, burned down the house, reduced the personal self to ash and rebirthed the "I" as a servant of SHE who rises, who dances the Universe into and out of existence in every Holy Instant. The experience, which is timeless, was fierce and total. The reflection of this experience is THE ROSE. The heart of the Mother. The heart of Matter. "

Attending many Adya retreats and Dr. Hawkins events. As she was hanging on to the teachers and teachings for dear life, a fierce dissolution of separateness was occurring in consciousness . The inherent Wholeness and Uncaused Love at the heart of existence, at the heart of every moment, became the view, the context, the WAY of Being.

Sitting next to a beautiful woman with whom she immediately resonated. Later, she was able to find this woman, Sharon Landrith, through Adya's website. Her heart moved her to make a pilgrimage to Crestone to meet Sharon. And participate in Sharon's 10 day, self-guided silent retreat.
